Seishou's Nanga art of the last year was found !
Works of writer or painter are most brilliant in the last year when they finished life. Like as the first work, the last work is also expensive in the old art market. We have found Seishou's last works which were drawn in the year just 100 years ago,i.e.1899. At the house of old friend of Mr.Seiten Jinya, the two investgators faced Seishou's Nanga art so vivid like as just now drawn, and deeply impressed. Works were clearly read as "1899 late spring drawn in Sakurai Gou" or "1899 spring drawn at Imabari Castle". We had got special permission to take photos of the Nanga art, following is a sample of photographs.

The last work of Lai Kyouhei was found !
The following photo is an important writing for Ishimaru families. The sho says: "Banshou kaishundou 78 old man Kyouhei wrote" which means "Any diseases are healed in this hospital". Lai Kyouhei died in 1834 at the age of 78. So this writing was one of the last works of Lai Kyouhei himself. Lai Kyouhei is the uncle of Lai Sanyou, Japan's most famous historians in Edo era.
But, we did not know who Lai Kyouhei was before we got the answer by Mr.Seiten Jinya saying "Kyouhei is the uncle of Sanyou and Kyouhei visited Sakurai district many times and wrote many art and sho".
Though Seishou was not born when Lai Kyouhei died in 1834, we introduce this last work of Kyouhei written in the same place of Sakurai district where Seishou wrote 65 years later. Seishou wrote in the sign quoting in all his works from this sho like as "Banshou kaishunyen". We suppose that this Kyouhei's writing was seen everytime when Seishou visited Ishimaru Family and Seishou would be also happy to face the last work of Lai Kyouhei himself.
It is said that Lai Kyouhei had given name of sake produced in the distilery of local brand named "Banzai no haru" (Spring of all year). He quoted a phraze from his own poetry made in the garden of oil dealer's residence. The oil dealer's is one of the ancestors of Kurushima Navy so famous in Japanese history. In that place called "Gochikukyo" now nobody lives there, some of their relatives are said to live in Tokyo. And only bamboo still remained in the place telling a story of old prosperity.
Thus one hundred years have passed but we can not know many things of that time. We want to make record in any printing matters for our ancestors of another hundred years later.
