	１８１０年(文化７）に建てられた、石風呂の由来を記した石標が、サウナの正面に残っている。空海が創設したという俗信も根強く伝えられている。当初は法華寺の管轄であったが、現在は地元の財産管理団体により運営されている。
The Stone Bulletin Board showing the history of Ishifuro Sauna made in 1870 (Bunka 7) The Ishifuro Sauna is now widely told to be built by Kuukai, a great priest in Heian Era born in Kagawa Pref. The Sauna was once under the control of Hokkeji Temple, but nowadays being managed by the local community treasury union.

Also translated into modern Japanese explaining the history of the Ishifuro Sauna. This new bulletin was made in 1988 (Shouwa 63).
